We’re making a game
NaizerBeam is making its first video game: Amethyst Dominion. It is a first-person shooter inspired by the classic shooters of the 90s, with a retro visual style and modern gameplay and modes. We have spent a lot of time talking about the games we want to play. Now we are trying to make one.
The plan is a short campaign alongside a wave-survival mode called Dominion. That is the mode shown in this first gameplay preview. This is development footage, not a finished release trailer. It is a look at the game we are building, and things can still change before launch.
Fun comes first
We started with a few clear goals: focus on fun gameplay, good mechanics, and modes worth coming back to. The game needs to be enjoyable to play before anything else. We are not trying to sell a hundred-hour commitment or make visual detail the entire reason to care.
We want all of that without blood, gore, sexual content, or other mature material. A game can have exciting combat and be fun without including those things. That is a development goal, not an official age rating or a claim that every household will find a first-person shooter appropriate for every child.
The footage gives you a first look at Dominion mode in Woodland Sanctuary: a fight among stone ruins, enemies, and glowing portals. The campaign is a separate part of the plan. We are not presenting this short survival clip as a demonstration of the whole campaign or everything the finished game will contain.
A game you have time to finish
One of our main goals is to keep the campaign short. People have jobs, families, and other things to do. Buying a new game should not always mean finding fifty or sixty hours just to get through the basic story. We want Amethyst Dominion to fit into a real life.
That does not mean every game should be short. We still love a big adventure. But there should also be room for something focused that you can finish and feel good about. Dominion mode is the other side of that idea: a place to keep playing when you want more combat, without stretching the campaign just to make it longer.
Retro looks, a smaller scope, and an affordable price
We want the game to look good without spending years polishing a particle effect. The 90s-inspired style is part of keeping the project focused. Our priority is what happens when you actually pick up the controls, not how long we can keep development going.
We also want to make it affordable. A short game should not require a huge purchase, especially for someone deciding whether to try a new developer. We have not announced a final price or an exact campaign length yet. Those are details we will share when we are ready, rather than making a promise now that the finished game might not meet.
The release target—and what comes next
We are aiming to release Amethyst Dominion on Steam in December 2026, with Switch and Switch 2 targeted for 2027. Those are our current development targets, not guaranteed dates or confirmation of platform approval. We want you playing it this Christmas, but getting the game ready matters more than pretending a target is a certainty.

This is our own game, so this article is a developer announcement, not a review. What would make you want to try it: the short campaign, Dominion mode, or both?
