Pokémon Bank now has a real shutdown date
This one is not a vague leak: the official Japanese notice says Bank—and transfers from Bank to HOME—end on February 26, 2027.

What is confirmed
The Pokémon Company’s Japanese notice now includes an actual end date. Pokémon Bank service will stop at noon JST on February 26, 2027. The ability to move Pokémon from Bank into Pokémon HOME is scheduled to end at the same time.
That is a meaningful change from years of open-ended language. Nintendo’s North American support page had continued to say there was no planned end date, which is exactly why the dated Japanese update matters more than an old FAQ or a creator’s headline.

A digital service can be convenient for a decade and still become a deadline. Players do not merely lose a storefront here; some collections can lose their only supported bridge from 3DS-era games into the current ecosystem. That is the practical ownership problem hiding behind the phrase “digital future.”
This is also a useful rumor filter. A shutdown date posted by the company is news. A supposed list of classic Pokémon games headed to Switch is still a report until Nintendo announces it. Those claims should not share the same certainty merely because they circulated on the same day.

Check the systems and cartridges that matter to you, decide which Pokémon you want to preserve, and test the full Bank-to-HOME path now. Waiting until the final week invites forgotten passwords, expired hardware, and overloaded services. Preserve first; speculate about future rereleases later.
