That gives readers two first-party records with the subject, venue, and timing. Whether putting a game reveal on Netflix is a good idea is opinion; whether the presentation exists is not.
That clarity is useful because the same news cycle carried claims of Zelda anniversary material and an imminent event. Those claims did not have a Nintendo event page, press release, or official channel notice when this desk was checked.
Why Direct rumors never die
Nintendo holds presentations often enough that someone predicting “a Direct soon” will eventually look correct. The claim becomes meaningful only with a date, scope, and reliable provenance. Moving the prediction each week is calendar watching, not reporting.
The Zelda anniversary discussion keeps circling, and the useful response is not to turn annoyance into certainty in the other direction. Nintendo could announce something tomorrow. Today’s record still says it has not.
